We are very proud to inform you that Agrestis obtained the recognition “Company of the year” in the guide “Olio d’Italia 2017” published by Gambero Rosso, the prestigious culinary editorial group. Our company is the only one in Italy that obtained the maximal grade: three leaves for each of the three oils presented to the Guide.

The awarded oils are :Nettaribleo, Verd´Olivo novello and Bell´Omio.
We are satisfied for our work of commitment and dedication; this recognition encourage us even more to improve and innovate our products and the daily work.

The Co-operative Society of Agrestis work in a small village of Syracuse, Buccheri, located at 820 meters above sea level, in an area where the olive tree is centuries old.

It was founded in 2003 by two young men: Joseph and Lorenzo, and their children: Pietro and Salvatore to enhance the typical product of the area of the Iblean mountains: the ‘Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Driven by love for their land, they decide to devote themselves to the care of many olive trees present in Buccheri that the elderly owners had abandoned. They acquired 8 hectares of olive groves, some of which they have converted to organic, while others are operated under lease.

Today, the 30 hectares of land with about 12,000 olive trees is farmed with pride and satisfaction. Agrestis has achieved prestige, bringing their “excellent products”, along with the name of Sicilian tradition from a little village in the middle of the mountains throughout Italy and the world.
