Meet the Sarafino family
These durable olive wood boards are handcrafted in Canada from fallen or pruned olive tree branches in Reggio Calabria, Italy on the Olearia San Giorgio estate. Calabria, which means fertile land, is where the largest olive trees in the world continue to grow. Olive wood is especially dense and sturdy with high resistance to abrasion making it a long lasting and beautiful wood. This artwork is made from a seamless piece that could be up to 400 years old.
The marble finish of these boards allows for an easy clean up. Simply hand wash with warm water and mild dish detergent. Dry thoroughly immediately after. Occasionally rub food grade hemp oil into the wood to revitalize and maintain its natural appearance.
