We LOVE this salt! Once discovered, you'll never want to be without it. Maras Pink Mt. Salt is hand-harvested from ancient salt pans located in the Andes Mts. of the Sacred Valley, Maras, Peru, and is a must have for EVERY BODY!
Salt is salt, right? Well, not so fast... Often falsely vilified and viewed as something one should avoid, salt is not only critical to life, but is one of the basic elements of which your body is composed. Unfortunately, in this day and age the salt you are consuming may not be the best for you, even if you’re using sea salt.
Something to consider when purchasing sea salt harvested from ocean water is does your salt contain microscopic plastic? ...Yes, plastic! The ocean is full of it which means if you’re eating sea salt then you’re most likely consuming microscopic plastic unknowingly. Sad but true. To better understand our current situation, a quick internet search on “The Great Pacific Garbage Patch” may provide insight. The combination of intense sunlight and salt water deteriorates floating plastic and the chemicals that create it. This process, along with the help of ocean currents, creates microscopic particles of chemical plastic ingredients and voilà, the ocean becomes a plastic chemical soup :/. Evaporating seawater concentrates the plastic chemicals and microscopic particles so even though you may not taste it, it’s most likely there in your ‘healthy’ sea salt.
But not to worry because we have good news!
It’s true that salt originates from the ocean, however our GY Maras Pink Mt. Salt is not harvested from the current ocean water but instead originates from a supply of salt created over a million years ago when tectonic plate movement buried salt deposits deep beneath the Andes mountains. These man-made salt pans fill with brine channeled from a deep underground spring. Eventually, the water naturally evaporates due to the intense sunlight and leaves behind crystallized salt. The salt is then hand-harvested by local families who manage their particular pan. When all the salt crystals are removed, the pan is filled with the salt water again. These salt pans have been operational for more than 500 years and are believed to be originally constructed by the Wari civilization, which pre-dates the Inca.
GY Maras Mountain Salt is as equally amazing for bathing as it is for cooking. Submerging in warm water relaxes the body and mind, dilates the pores allowing the body to absorb minerals and excrete toxins. Salt helps to stimulate and activate circulation, may help to reduce cellulite and purifies the skin. GY Maras Mountain Salt may help improve common irritations such as insect bites, minor rashes, calloused feet, as well as more serious skin conditions like athlete’s foot, eczema, and psoriasis.
Ingredients: Semi-fine grind pink mountain salt from the Maras Salt pans, Andes Mts, Maras Peru

GIDDY YO
I was ‘that mom’ who was obsessed with feeding my gaggle of kids good clean organic food. In 2007 I started making ‘healthy’ chocolate for them, sourcing ingredients based on how I defined ‘clean’ and learning about cacao. Fast forward to 2009 and the business was born – starting in the kitchen, moving to the farmer’s markets, then into your local and national health food store and online. Where to next, not sure for only the Lord knows, but wherever and whatever it is, I pray it will indeed help others live their best life!
I’m a normal simple girl who loves good food and good people, who loves to work, who gets ideas and inspirations that motivate me to take action. I don’t accept most things at face value, especially when it comes to matters of truth, health and wellbeing. I ask a lot of questions, I test, I observe, I use my gut and seek the advice of those I trust. I do all this to ensure what we offer is good.
Most of all I love the Lord and I am keenly aware that any success we have experienced is because of Him. I am so thankful and blessed to have this opportunity to create and help others, and I am committed to continuing to serve Him by serving you, our loyal Giddy Yo family.
All praise be to Jesus!
